First Time Setup Instructions

Please follow the instructions below to Setup the BYOD Wi-Fi for your device. This only has to be Setup Once Per Device.

To Begin, Download The Certificate Here.

iOS (iPhone, iPad, etc.):

  1. Click on "Profile Downloaded" at the top of your settings page. (If it does not appear, try downloading the certificate again)
  2. Click "Install" in the top right corner of your screen and enter your device's passcode.
  3. In Settings, go to General -> About -> Certificate Trust Settings (Found at the bottom of the menu)
  4. Ensure smoothwall.redmoor.internal is enabled under "Enable full trust for root certificates"

Android:

Android devices have varying names and menus in settings. The exact names and locations in this guide may be slightly different to your device.

  1. In Settings, go to Security and Privacy -> More Security Settings -> Install Certificates from Device Storage
  2. Select "CA Certificate" then "Install Anyway"
  3. Enter your Device's PIN
  4. Select the Smoothwall Certificate from your device's storage (It should default to the "Downloads" folder)

Windows:

  1. In the Search Bar in the bottom left of the screen, search for "Manage User Certificates"
  2. Open the folder named "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" Then Right Click on the folder inside called "Certificates"
  3. Under "All Tasks" Select Import
  4. Follow the instructions on the pop-up window, choosing the Smoothwall Certificate when prompted to import a file.
  5. Ensure the Certificate is stored in "Trusted Root Certification Authorities"

MacOS:

  1. Open Finder, Then Applications -> Utilities -> Keychain Access
  2. Select "System" in the left-hand Column
  3. Select "File" -> "Import Items" and import the certificate into the "System" Keychain
  4. The Certificate should show with a red X. Double click on the certificate, Under the "Trust" Drop down menu, find "When Using This Certificate" and set it to "Always Trust"

ChromeOS:

  1. In Chrome Browser, Click the three dots in the top right and open settings
  2. Click "Privacy and Security" on the left hand side, Then click into the Security Tab
  3. Under Advanced, Find "Manage Certificates"
  4. Under "Authorities", click import and select the Smoothwall Certificate.
  5. Tick all the boxes and select Ok
